CFL Playoff Betting: Tiger-Cats vs Argos Sportsbook Odds

The Eastern Division will play just one more game this year before the Grey Cup finals and it will be the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Toronto to take on the Argonauts. William Hill has pegged the Ti-Cats as 3.5 point underdogs for this game even though they’ve been on a tear as of late. The last time these two teams met was in October of this year and on that occasion; Hamilton took home a 6 point win on their home turf. William Hill Sportsbook Review

Toronto Argonauts

The Toronto Argonauts are getting a ton of the action so far for this Sundays Eastern Division CFL final even though they have to give up 3.5 points to the Ti-Cats on the spread. You would think that the defending Grey Cup Champions would be standing on at least a bit questionable ground due to their inconsistent quarterback situation over the 2013 season, but with Ricky Ray back, and apparently healthy, it looks like CFL bettors are looking for the Argos to perform just as well as they did last season when they took home CFL’s grand prize. Moreover they are predicting that the Argos can keep up with some of the incredible stats they’ve racked up this season. For one, Toronto has been beating up on the Ti-Cats when at home. These two teams have been fairly even when it comes to recent heads up matches, but Toronto has won four out of their last five straight up against the Ti-Cats when playing them in Toronto. Another stat leaning in the Argos favor is that they’ve hit the over in nine out of their last thirteen games at home. Their games against Hamilton tend to be lower scoring affairs and Toronto will need this point push to continue if they want to keep up with Burris and the Ti-Cats.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Despite the great majority of CFL experts and sports bettors taking a strong stance behind the Toronto Argonauts for this Sunday’s game, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are not without potential.  After a terrible start to the season, the Ti-Cats capped off the 2013 regular season with four wins in their last five games and another victory tagged on last Sunday against the Montreal Alouettes. Their biggest weapon on Sunday will be Henry Burris. The CFL’s leading quarterback this season threw for more than 4,900 yards when all was said and done for the 2013 regular season. The trouble haunting Burris and the Ti-Cats, however, is an interception count that also topped the league. Burris finished with 19 of them to his name in the regular season and added six of those in his last two games.

Totals Betting

William Hill has set the over/under for this game at 54.5 points which is a bit higher than what these two teams averaged over the 2013 regular CFL season. Each of these teams finished off the year with 25 ½ points per game averages which leaves them at an average total of just 51 points. Ricky Ray getting thrown back into the mix definitely gives the Argos a huge potential point bump, but given the fact that 12 out of their last 17 heads up games in Toronto have resulted in hitting the under, the over may be a bit too daunting.

CFL Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Toronto Argonauts Predictions

Chris Shultz over at TSN is making the same prediction that most of us are this week and that’s that Toronto will be seeing another Grey Cup Final. He’s calling for a high scoring game and a Toronto victory by five points. Hi record through 74 CFL games is 44 wins and 30 losses. If you take his advice and bet the Argonauts to win outright, William Hill will give you odds of 1.57. That means that for every $100 you bet on the Argos this Sunday, your potential profit is $57.00.
